Serving the Children of the World
In order to carry out all the projects that Kiwanis is involved with throughout the year, each member is asked to join one or more committees.

Aktion Club-Transitions South
Cole, Melissa
Aktion Club is the only service club for adults with disabilities. Motto: Where development has no disability.
Board of Directors
Boucher, Claire
Conducts the business of the club. It consists of the President, President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Immediate Past President and 6 board members.
Builders Club
Korloch, Pat
Represents the club and at the Gardner Academy Builders Club meetings and is the liaison between the school and Kiwanis.
Club Administration This committee is concerned with the overall structure of the club and how it is managed. It periodically reviews and recommends changes to the club's bylaws and policies. Activities include bylaws review and the Nominating Committee.
Community Service This committee addresses the needs of the community in general. It oversees projects that do not fit in other committees, that could fit in several committees, and/or that are primarily aimed at helping adults or senior citizens. Activities include Kiwanis One Day, Lansing Mayor's Walk, Safety Patrol Picnic, Lansing Parks and Recreation Picnic, Special Olympics, R.J. Scheffel Toy Project, and Memorial Garden at Hawk Island.
Eliminate Project Through The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus worldwide.
Finance & Fund Raising This committee pre-approves all fund raising activities and ensures that funds raised for projects are used for the stated purpose. Fund raising projects include SCRIPS program, Greater Lansing Home Builders Association, fall nut sale, monthly Euchre tournament, Kwik Car Wash coupons, community dine events, Flag Project, 5K run/walk, and garage sale.
Human & Spiritual Values

This committee addresses all things connected to the first object of Kiwanis: "To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life." Activities include Southside Community Kitchen and Meals on Wheels.
McCastle, Betty
Membership Growth & Administration
Schleicher, Gordon
Attract new members, participate in new member orientation, and retain existing membership.
Public Relations This committee is responsible for helping to raise our profile in the community. Activities include meeting notices and club news to local papers.
Terrific Kids
Blair, Ann
Terrific Kids.
Young Children: Priority One This committee addresses the needs of children from birth to the point where they enter school. Also included in the scope of this committee are projects that address the needs of expectant mothers. Activities include The Eliminate Project, Project Linus, and hospital/trauma dolls.
Youth Services/Sponsored Youth The committee addresses the needs of young people from the time they enter kindergarten until they graduate from high school or college. This committee also oversees our participation in the various Kiwanis-sponsored youth programs: Terrific Kids, Bringing Up Grades (BUG), KKids, Builders Club, Key Club and Circle K. Activities include The Dictionary Project, Southside Community Coalition, Key Leader, Law Enforcement Academy, CAAC Boys and Girls Basketball trophies.
